12th September, 2019 – NEW YORK, NY – The National Resource Center on HIV and Aging, an initiative by GMHC, is pleased to announce the launch of their new website. The website is full of valuable resources to help older people with HIV and long term survivors. There are many myths still surrounding HIV and AIDS which hamper the proper understanding and acceptance of this condition.

Thanks to the breakthrough treatments, it is now possible to live a normal life post-diagnosis. There are more than 50% of individuals living with AIDS/HIV who are over the age of 50. The fact is that effective treatment will help these patients have a normal life span without any worries. The age expectancy will continue to climb as long as the long term survivors continue to follow a healthy lifestyle and make healthier choices in their lives.
