Author and Founder of The Barefoot Ministries, Rusty Williams is thrilled to announce the release of his third book titled “Doubt on Trial: An Agnostic Minister’s Case for Questioning the Bible”

The book “Doubt on Trial: An Agnostic Minister’s Case for Questioning the Bible” by Rusty Williams discusses what is taught in seminaries and theological schools around the world, but isn’t discussed in church on Sunday mornings. It systematically informs the reader instead of jamming the information down the reader’s throat.

In this book, the author presents a hypothetical courtroom trial where the Church has accused doubt of being responsible for its decline over the last couple of decades. The transcript is doubt’s testimony where doubt brings out the contradictions, discrepancies, historical inaccuracies, and problematic passages in the New Testament. It addresses these seeming setbacks and problematic passages in the New Testament.

Speaking about his new book, Rusty Williams had this to say, “This book is the result of years of research to share with laypeople what is taught in seminaries and theological schools around the world. In doing so, I hope to bring people to a place of understanding where they can experience growth in their faith journeys.”

The book, “Doubt on Trial: An Agnostic Minister’s Case for Questioning the Bible”, is scheduled to be released on May 11, 2021, and it is written to provide clarity to persons who have doubts and questions about what they’ve read in the Bible or what they’ve heard preached from the pulpit. Sadly, in most churches, doubts and questions are discouraged and looked at as a sign of a lack of faith. For Rusty Williams, if people with doubts and questions were able to feel normal about having them, they just might open their minds and grow in their faith journeys.

The author believes the book may upset fundamental Christians who approach the Bible literally but this was not the author’s intent while writing. In his own words, “I am just a hopeful agnostic continuing the struggle to follow the teachings of Jesus.”

Believers, agnostics, atheists, and anyone with an interest in learning more about how the books in the New Testament came to be would enjoy this book. About Author

Rusty is the author of “Can I get there from Here: One Cop’s Irreverent Look at Faith” and “Pee, Poop, Heartache, and Love: Life Lessons Learned from Fostering Shelter Dogs”. His third book “Doubt on Trial: An Agnostic Minister’s Case for Questioning the Bible” is set to be released on May 11, 2021.

Rusty was ordained into the Christian Ministry in 2008. He holds a Master of Divinity degree in Pastoral Counseling and a Doctor of Ministry degree in Church Development. A former youth minister, Rusty was diagnosed in 2009 with a rare disease (a spinal cord tumor) that has left him disabled. He now devotes his time to healing both his mind and body. Through the practice of self-hypnosis and mindfulness, he can work through many of the debilitating effects of the disease.

In 2014, Rusty and his wife, Elissa started the Barefoot Ministries, and proceeds from the sale of Rusty’s books are invested back into the ministry – a ministry that provides hypnosis and mindfulness sessions free of charge to anyone who wants to make a change in their lives.
