New Zealand start-up Trik’n Treat have redefined the way we play fetch with our dogs. Using proven reward techniques to promote good behaviour, Trik’n Treat are eliminating problems with animals refusing to drop the ball, turning fetch into a game of tug of war, or snatching the ball away at the last second when you try to pick it up.
After months of design refinement and the challenges of a global pandemic, company founder Sam Gray is excited to launch the Trik’n Treat Fetch Trainer via the crowd funding site Kickstarter.
“When fetch is easy, exercise is easy, and when exercise is easy, building a healthy relationship with your favourite furry family member becomes much simpler” says Gray.
The Trik’n Treat Fetch Trainer has been thoughtfully designed to overcome the mishaps and misunderstandings with the game of fetch. Whether its failure to drop a fetched ball, tug of war, turning fetch into a game of chase, slobbery hands or dogs leaving a ball in awkward spots, the Fetch Trainer has got you covered.
Combining a ball thrower, clicker trainer, treat dispenser and water bowl into one simple to use solution, misunderstandings are things of the past.
Sam’s passion for the welfare of animals and people has been the primary driver of the development of the Trik’n Treat Fetch Trainer. In keeping with these values Trik’n Treat plans to contribute a portion of sales to animal welfare causes.
As for developing a business during a global pandemic, the company has taken it in its stride. “COVID-19 has presented obstacles to design and development in the form of funding and man power, however we have adapted to the changes and grown rapidly” Founder Sam Gray said.
