Fascinating Views Waiting For Tourists in Huangshan Mountain
Huangshan Mountain, located in Anhui Province in eastern China, is a place of wonderful and majestic scenery. In 1990, Huangshan Mountain was included in the list of world cultural and natural heritage by UNESCO.
Huangshan Mountain was formed about 100 million years ago in the Mesozoic Era. During the Quaternary Period, the landform changed and rocks of different shapes were formed, resulting in the “Five Wonders of Huangshan Mountain”, namely peculiar pines, spectacular rocks, cloud sea, hot springs, and snowy scenery. Among the 72 peaks of Huangshan Mountain, the highest one, Lotus Peak, is 1864.8 meters above sea level. Visitors can take a cable car to the top of the mountain, but it is more unforgettable to follow the climbing trail created by ancient people. Precipitous cliffs and rugged valleys, steep slopes, changeable weather with sometimes scorching heat but cool winds at the top of the mountain, are a test of courage and determination. There are many spectacular rocks along the trail. “Stone Monkey Gazing at Sea of Clouds” is one of these famous rocks: It looks like a sitting monkey gazing at the sea of clouds and waiting for visitors from all over the world. When you come to Huangshan Mountain, it is highly recommended to spend a night on the mountain and watch the sunrise. When the first ray of dawn emerges from the gloom, the darkness recedes like a tide and the sea of clouds changes color under the illumination of the sun, reflecting colorful rays of light. I am confident that you will fondly remember such wonderful scenery for your whole life!
Legend has it that Li Bai, an ancient Chinese poet, wrote a poem during his trip to Huangshan Mountain. After the poet drunkenly threw his writing brush away and it was then transformed into a mountain peak with pines on it. Peculiar pines are a symbol of Huangshan Mountain and are a national treasure of China. Living in an extremely harsh environment, the pines grow out of broken rocks. One of the most famous is called the “Guest-Greeting Pine”. This pine is nearly 10 meters high, with branches stretching out from one side as if welcoming guests from afar, making it one of the most popular elements in Chinese design.
At the foot of Huangshan Mountain, there are magnificent ancient villages, including Hongcun Village, Xidi Village, Chengkan Village, and Zhaji Village, where visitors can celebrate the completion of their journey with a cup of tea from the mountain. The spring flowers, summer sun, autumnal colors, and snow-filled winter scenery of Huangshan Mountain will be waiting expectantly for you to visit again.
